Session 1 : Multi-language on universes and reports

by Frederic Jacob & Jean-François Dierckx of SAP Business Objects Division

If you want to deploy Business Intelligence in multiple languages, translations are needed at several levels : interface, reports, universe and data. In this session, we will cover all multilingual aspects of the BI solution, including the Universal Translation Manager that will help you translate your universes and reports.

Target audience: All people interested in deploying a BI solution using multiple languages

Session 2 : Tips & tricks for a well-performing universe

by Jo Onraet of Cernum

Designer is still hiding many less-known but interesting features such as index awareness, derived tables, delegated measures, delegated search, mandatory filters, cascading LOV's etc. This session will focus on how and when you can use all these features which were recently introduced.

For each feature there will be a clear indication which connectivity is supported.

Target audience: All Designers creating and generating universes.

Session 3 : "Universes, Metadata and Cubes"

by Gerd Janssens & Jean-François Dierckx of SAP Business Objects Division

This session will give answers to 3 questions :

- "What can users do with a Universe?" : Understand through live demos which are the many ways for an end user to take benefit of the universe : Polestar, Web Intelligence, Query as a Web Service, Live Office and Xcelsius.

- "How do universes fit in the global picture?" : Where do your numbers come from ? Metadata Manager will help end-users make the link between all your data descriptions : reports, universes, SAP BW, ETL and business metadata.

- "How can users work with cubes?" : Microsoft Analysis Services, Hyperion Essbase and SAP BW are all cubes that you can leverage with OLAP Universes, but also with the direct Voyager connectivity

Target audience: All people interested in deploying a more complete BI solution.

Session 4 : A technical dive into SAP BW connectivity

by Wim Van Wuytswinkel of Cernum

At the BI-BOUG Commission of March 5th a lot of questions raised up concerning what's happening behind the scenes when using the SAP BW connectivity via universes.

- "What's the impact of generating a universe on top of the Infocubes and BEx queries?"

- "What's the impact of querying a universe on top of the Infocubes and BEx queries?"

The answers will be given via a technical live demonstration.

Target audience: All people interested in the SAP BW connectivity and having a technical background.

We are looking forward to meeting you on April 23rd !
